Rhode Island Chaîne des Rôtisseur
Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is the world’s oldest international gastronomic society, founded in Paris in 1248. It is devoted to preserving the camaraderie and pleasures of the table and to promoting excellence in all areas of the hospitality arts. Each year the society sponsors young chef and sommelier competitions that attract contestants from throughout the world, while the Chaîne Foundation provides scholarships for students in these fields.
Chaîne is based on the traditions and practices of the old French royal guild of meat roasters. Revived in 1950, the society has professional and amateur members in more than 70 countries worldwide. In the United States, there are more than 130 bailliages (chapters), each offering a variety of culinary activities to suit the interests of local members.
If you have a passion for cultivated gastronomy, then our gastronomic association is the right choice for you.
Société Mondiale du Vin is the affiliated wine organization of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. The focus of this component society is the appreciation of wine and crafted beverages. Société Mondiale encourages the collection and dissemination of information on wines and quality spirits as well as the enjoyment, understanding and procurement of fine beverages.
Most new members join through recommendation by friends who are already members, or by contacting one of our board members. With an international network and community spanning the Globe, Chaîne membership offers great opportunities to meet people who share a common interest in fine dining and good friendship.
One of the many benefits of membership are the educational and entertaining events that Chaîne puts on throughout the year. These events provide a means for mutual sharing and enjoyment among those who appreciate fine beverage. Learn more about our chapter's upcoming events.
